Last week, I volunteered to take on a single tasking challenge. Inspired by Geri Hirsch’s blog, I recognised that, like her, I have become very much a full time multi-tasker and perhaps it was time to start doing things in a more focused and mindful way. I was curious about science suggesting that single-tasking is better for your brain, that multi-tasking is a myth, so I wanted to see what the results would be.

Here’s what I learnt.

Last week we hosted our second Good Day At Work lunch of the year at the lovely Bourne & Hollingsworth Buildings in London, with guests from organisations including Mars, BUPA and United Learning.

Our Good Day At Work President, Sir Cary Cooper, and I led the round-table discussion, which centred around ‘work-life integration’ – a theme we’re exploring with our partner, Bank Workers Charity, throughout the year.

The Keys To Successful Flexible Working

Posted by on in Work-life Balance

Flexible working in 2015 is a phenomenon that is arguably more popular than ever. Since June 2014, every worker in the UK has had the opportunity to be flexible with their job.

So what do employees and managers need to do in order to make sure everyone gets the most out of a flexible working policy?
